Mission
During the annual build season, Dark Matter spends 6 weeks designing, building, and testing a competitive robot that can complete a challenge given to us by FIRST. However our team has a larger, overarching goal. We strive to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields and ideas throughout our community and to teach our members valuable skills we will use in the real world.
Our members learn engineering skills and software development. However, we also learn that nothing we do could be accomplished without teamwork and time management, skills that will help us not only in robotics but any career we choose.
Our team aims to spark interest in STEM by promoting everything we do. We show promotional videos in our school, host Zumba dance sessions, participate in Scout-o-ramas, host FLL competitions, and get involved in our local Holiday Boutique.
